The family was in Buenos Aires until she was six, after which they moved to the Victoria part in London. Taylor Joy says that moving was a very difficult experience. Taylor Joy was unable to study English and believed she would be able to move back to Argentina. The school she attended had to be changed from Northlands to Hill House. Later, she enrolled at Queen's Gate School in which she was a ballet student and took part in school-based plays. When she dropped out of school at the age of 16, Taylor-Joy pursued a full-time acting career. Taylor-Joy was always aware that her dream was to be an actress. It was when she achieved that dream, Sarah Doukas founder of Storm Management gave Taylor-Joy the opportunity of modeling.
